The Â鶹´«Ã½ Wellness Room

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Wellness room was made possible by funds through the Mental Health in Higher Education Grant through the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education. The Wellness Room is a vital step towards being a mental health promoting campus. The Wellness Room will provide mental, spiritual, and emotional support resources for Â鶹´«Ã½ students, and will be able to be accessed throughout the day and in the evening while other campus offices are closed.

The Wellness room provides students with a warm, comforting environment. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Wellness Room is stocked with relaxation activities, including yoga mats, a light therapy lamp, a weighted blanket and a massage chair. Wellness and recreation spaces on college campuses are evidence-based in utilization by students, helping with healthy-habit development, and coping with stress (Makubuya et al, 2020). There will also be coloring activities and stress reduction pamphlets available.
