The program is 36 credits total. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>How long will it take me to get my MASE degree? <\/div>
\n

The MASE program can be completed in 2 years, part time.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>When can I start the program?<\/div>
\n

The MASE program starts in the Fall semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I take courses at my own pace? <\/div>
\n

No. The MASE degree is a cohort based program with a set curriculum. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>What is a cohort?<\/div>
\n

A cohort is a group of students who move through a program together, taking each course at the same time, and completing the program together.\u00a0 In the process, students develop relationships which provide mutual support during the program and yield future networking opportunities as well as lasting friendships.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Is the program offered in person, online, or in a hybrid format? <\/div>
\n

MASE courses are offered in a hybrid format. Classes are typically held in-person on Monday and Wednesday nights from 4:30-8pm.\u00a0 *Subject to change <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>What are the qualifications to apply to the program? <\/div>
\n

A baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a provisional or standard state issued teaching certification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I participate in the program if I do not have my provisional or standard state issued teaching certification?<\/div>
\n

Students who do not have a provisional or standard state issued teaching certification are encouraged to meet with the MASE Program Director before applying to discuss a path to eligibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I continue to work full time while earning my MASE degree? <\/div>
\n

Yes, many students continue to work full time while pursuing their MASE degree<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Do you accept transfer credits from other schools?<\/div>
\n

Y<\/span>es. Up to two (2) graduate courses (8 credits) may be considered for transfer into the Master of Arts in Special Education program, provided the courses are from another accredited institution of higher education. In addition, decisions regarding credit transfer will be determined by the Program Director, upon careful examination of course syllabi and related assessments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>How much does the program cost? <\/div>
\n

Tuition is approximately $895 per credit.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Estimated total cost for the MASE program = $32,199<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>*There is no additional cost for out-of-state students <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Does the Master of Arts in Special Education (MASE) program prepare me to earn the New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification?<\/div>
\n

After completion of all degree requirements, the Master of Arts in Special Education Program certifies students to receive the Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification provided that they already have an additional New Jersey teacher certification. Standard teacher certification is a requirement to enter this program and is not provided within the curriculum of this program. <\/span>For those\u00a0 that hold certifications in other states, we will guide you on how to (most likely) convert your state certification to New Jersey certification by completing the NJDOE paperwork.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Are their payment plans and\/or employer reimbursement cooperation agreements? <\/div>
\n

We do have in-house payment plan options and cooperate with employer reimbursement <\/span>programs. More information can be found here <\/span>

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can graduate students apply for Financial Aid? <\/div>
\n

Yes, Graduate students may borrow up to $20,500 annually under the Federal Direct Stafford <\/span>
\n<\/span>Loan programs. <\/span>
\n<\/span>To qualify for a Federal Direct Stafford loan, graduate students must be enrolled for at least 6 <\/span>credit hours per semester.\u00a0 Students enrolled for less than 6 credits may consider an alternative <\/span>loan.\u00a0<\/span>
